According to the Police report, the teenager usually spends time at his father's house and on the day in question, the father left the weapon in the house but noticed it missing when he returned home.

At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court this morning, a 17-year-old young man found himself before Magistrate Judy Latchman facing larceny charges.

The youth, Chris Pollard allegedly stole his father’s Taurus pistol along with 9 live matching rounds on the 28th January, 2018.

According to the Police report, the teenager usually spends time at his father’s house and on the day in question, the father left the weapon in the house but noticed it missing when he returned home.

After several checks, the father called in the Police and made known his suspicion that the weapon must have been stolen by his son.

The youngster was arrested and the charge filed against him following the completion of the probe.

The weapon has not yet been found. The younger Pollard was remanded to jail today until February 26, when the matter will come up again.
