(Stabroek Sports) Whether he wears latex gloves or laces up boxing gloves, Mahmoud ‘The Extractor’ Loul is in the business of dealing with pain.
The full time dental school student and professional boxer puts on latex gloves to soothe dental aches on patients but dons his boxing gloves to extract pain on opponents.
Pain he aims on extracting on Derek Richmond, his opponent on the April 20 card dubbed ‘Firestorm’ which will be staged at the Princess Hotel.
“I said it once and I will say it again, I hope he can stand the pain because there would be no anesthesia” joked the 22 year-old budding dentist who will face Richmond in a four-round super middleweight contest.
“I don’t want to finish the fight too soon though, I want to enjoy it but I am definitely going for the knockout probably in round two or three” boasted the undefeated Syrian born Loul.
During the interview with Stabroek Sport yesterday, the kick boxer and martial artist who hones his skills at the Andrew ‘Six Head’ Lewis Gym revealed that he has been training six days per week with the goal of improving his record which stands at a solitary win.
Loul knocked out journeyman, Patrick Boston in the second round of his one-sided debut bout in February of this year.
Richmond is also inexperienced and is yet to secure a victory in his one-fight career. The Berbician pugilist lost via KO at the hands of Anson Green in his debut fight in January.
Loul who will be in Guyana for the next 18 months, disclosed that when he is done with Richmond he will be going after a few boxers on his “extraction list”.
Asked to reveal the names of the boxers on the list, Loul smiled and stated that he will do his talking in the ring.
Will Loul extract pain on Richmond or will Richmond win his first professional bout? The answer will be known on April 20.
Meanwhile the card’s headliner will pit three-division champion, Clive ‘The Punisher’ Atwell against Venezuelan knock out artist, Raphael Hernandez for the vacant WBC CABOFE featherweight title.
Other bouts on the card will see Gladwin Dorway taking on Mark Austin for the vacant junior middleweight championship, Elton ‘The Bully’ Dharry versus Hewley Robertson for the vacant national bantamweight title and Howard ‘Battersea Bomber’ Eastman versus Jamaica, Sakima Mullings for the vacant CABOFE welterweight crown.
VIP tickets will cost $10,000 while ringside and outer ring side will cost $5000 and $2500 respectively.
Bell time is 20:00hrs.
