The Guyana Police Force this afternoon announced that 53-year-old labourer, Andre Stuger, was today charged and remanded to jail for the alleged rape of a child under 16 years.
Stuger, who worked as a labourer at a Police station, appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to enter a plea and was immediately remanded to jail. His next Court appearance will be on the 4th August, 2025.
The accused was arrested at his home earlier this week following reports of the abduction of a young child.
Following the police investigation, the charge of rape was filed against him. Other charges are likely to follow.
