The remains of 11-year-old Adriana Younge were flown to New York on Monday for a second autopsy to be done. The young child was found dead in a pool at the Double Day Hotel on the 24th April, one day after she was reported missing.
Family members have stated that the same pool was searched repeatedly, so the discovery of her body the day later in the same pool has led to some suspicion.
Three weeks ago, a post-mortem examination conducted by three foreign pathologists in Guyana concluded that the child died by drowning. The results of the toxicology tests are still to be made known, and the Police said the investigations into the child’s death are ongoing.
According to reports, the pathologists conducting the second autopsy will meet with the family of the girl to make the findings known to them. The child’s parents and a number of other relatives have flown to the US as they continue their quest for justice.
The second post-mortem examination is expected to take place on Wednesday.
