Security Guard remanded to jail for murder of Foulis man

25-year-old security guard, Messiah Mussenden, of Buxton/Friendship, East Coast Demerara, was charged and remanded today for the murder of Foulis resident, Rondell Clarke.

The 29-year-old Rondell Clarke was shot dead last Sunday evening while being chased through his village by a group of Policemen. It is alleged that the security guard opened fire on the man while he was being chased.

Initially, it was unclear whether the man was shot dead by the Police or the Security Guard, but following the post-mortem examination, the Police said a fragment of a bullet recovered from the dead man’s body matched the gun that was being used by the security guard.

In Court today, the murder accused, Messiah Mussenden, was not required to enter a plea to the indictable murder charge.

He has been remanded to jail and will make his next Court appearance on the 15th July. The matter has been transferred from the Vigilance Magistrates’ Court to the Cove and John Magistrates’ Court.
