As the Government continues the registration process for the $100,000 cash grant for adult Guyanese, Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo has indicated that in the case of persons living with a disability, special arrangements will be made for them to be visited at home and registered.
Speaking briefly to News Source this morning, the Vice President said the enumerators will visit the homes of persons who are disabled to get them registered for the grant.
In many cases already, once it is brought to the attention of the persons conducting the registration in an area, that there is someone at a home with a disability, that person would be visited and registered at their home.
In the case of disabled persons who may not have a Passport or National ID Card in their possession, other source documents including their Disability Card, which is issued by the Human Services Ministry would be used.
Registration in a number of areas across the country is ongoing, with other areas to come on stream soon. Most public servants have already been registered as well as most pensioners. They will be among the first to receive the grant along with other persons who are registered.
