Air Canada to begin Georgetown-Toronto flights next year

Award winning Canadian Airline, Air Canada, has announced plans to begin service to Guyana in 2025.

In a statement today announcing its expansion plan for the new year, the airline stated that it will operate schedule non-stop service between Toronto and Georgetown. According to the airline, the expansion to Guyana, is part of its aim to capitalize on the region’s economic boom.

Air Canada said it will be using a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on the route.

The company has not given a date for the start of the new service, but News Source understands the service could begin in time for the summer travel season in 2025.

The only airline flying between Georgetown and Toronto currently is Caribbean Airlines. There have been efforts by the Government to get new airlines to offer the route, owing to the large Guyanese population in Canada. In many cases, travelers would be forced to use flights that connect through the United States.

Air Canada is the national flag carrier of Canada and currently flies to more than 200 destinations.
