Former PNCR Executive Thandi McAllister encourages Region Three to stay the course with President Ali

Declaring that President Irfaan Ali is a “President of the people, for the people and by the people”, former People’s National Congress Executive and youth leader, Thandi McAllister threw her full support behind the re-election of the President to serve a second term.

With overcast skies above and standing on the right hand of the President at a mid-morning public meeting in Canal #2 in Region Three this morning, the Attorney said she has trust in the President’s vision and his ability to take care of the country.

“You have seen first hand the development from 2020 to date, imagine what he will do with another term. I trust his vision, I trust his word. His word is his bond, and I have proven that. I have known him for many years and I am saying to you to trust him with another term, trust him with Guyana’s future. He has demonstrated that he is a man for all seasons. He has demonstrated that he is a President of the people, by the people and for the people and Region Three, in these elections, your votes are critical”, McAllister stated.

McAllister resigned from the PNC Reform in 2021. At the time, she was an executive member of the party and also the Chairman of the party’s Region Three branch.

In a resignation statement back in 2021, she said she had concluded that the direction of the leadership of the PNCR at the time under then leader David Granger, was is ill-suited to the fulfillment of the aspirations of young people in Guyana, the enhancement of the party’s supporters, and the advancement of the nation.

She campaigned in 2020 for the re-election of Mr. Granger and told a Region Three rally during the elections that they had a choice of re-electing a “decent and honest man” in then President David Granger or the other option who, she said had zero degrees and 19 charges, in a reference to then Presidential Candidate Irfaan Ali. It was Ali who went on to win the elections.

Today, she said while many might have known her from the other side of the aisle, she has now joined forces with President Ali because she believes in his vision.

“These elections that are upcoming will determine the future of our country, and so I want to encourage you to stay the course with my friend and brother”, McAllister pleaded.

Elections in Guyana are due this year.
