Police in the mining town of Linden are probing the murder of 47-year-old farmer, Dion Ramdyhan, who was gunned down in his house at Bamia, which is located just outside of Linden along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
The man was reportedly in his sleep when he was attacked and murdered. Persons in the area told investigators that several loud gunshots were heard, however, no suspect has been identified.
The murder took place just before 3 o’clock this morning. Villagers and close family and friends of the dead man are in shock over the execution. They said they are unaware of any issue he may have had with anyone, but they believe the attack was not robbery motivated.
A post-mortem examination is to be performed on the body. Investigations are ongoing.
