Hawaiian property developers teaming up with retired NBA star to build luxury condos and retail village at Ogle

Hawaiian property developers, Giovanni and Nicola Mola of Coastal Rim Properties, (CRP)in partnership with NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon, have announced the launch of TAJ Dream Ogle in Guyana. The Luxury project will feature over 1,000 condominiums and a retail village, marking their second major development in the region.

In a release today, it was explained that the development aims to set new standards for residential living in the expanding Ogle corridor.

It was further explained that the company has a portfolio spanning over 6,000 homes and millions of square feet of commercial space across the United States.

“The Mola brothers will be delivering over 1,000 condominium units and a retail village, bringing their institutional-scale development expertise to Guyana’s rapidly expanding Ogle corridor through a master-planned luxury condominium and lifestyle village. This is CRP’s second development in Guyana, the first being TAJ Diamond with 218 homes,” the company announced today.

The company said its Ogle project will set a new benchmark for international-quality residential living in Guyana while creating structured opportunities for Guyanese at home and abroad to participate in the country’s historic economic expansion.

At the heart of the project will be a five-star, world-class hotel, which the company said, is poised to become the first fully integrated luxury hospitality experience of its kind in Guyana, alongside a dedicated five-star hotel training institute designed to support hospitality education, workforce development, and operational excellence.

It will also feature a  fully walkable mixed-use village including a central town square, curated restaurants and cafés, retail boutiques, medical services, entertainment offerings, landscaped walking parks, and modern public spaces that create a lifestyle ecosystem unprecedented in the local market. Every residential condominium will include at least one secure, covered garage parking stall, reinforcing safety, convenience, and international living standards throughout the community.

“The development will be constructed using U.S.-manufactured and climate-treated structural steel specifically selected to withstand Guyana’s salty and humid coastal environment. The entire site will be elevated by eight feet above the existing grade to mitigate flooding risk, supported by advanced drainage infrastructure and integrated civil engineering systems embedded into the master plan from inception. The design reflects a forward-thinking, climate-resilient approach aligned with Guyana’s long-term sustainable development objectives,” the company announced.

The company said it is also prioritising the participation of local contractors, suppliers, engineers, and professional service firms. The development is expected to generate thousands of construction jobs during its build phase and approximately 800 permanent jobs upon completion, supported by structured training programs tied to hotel and retail operations to ensure skills transfer and long-term employment opportunities for Guyanese citizens.
