United Arab Emirates ready to be Guyana’s true partner in development of energy resources

The United Arab Emirates today assured that it is ready to be Guyana’s true and reliable partner in which the country can count on, to help develop its energy resources.

Speaking during the opening of the Guyana Energy conference and Supply Chain Expo, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan Al Jaber, said with over seven decades in enhancing capabilities across energy value chain, the UAE stands ready to foster a strong relationship with Guyana in many areas across energy and energy security.

The Minister said Guyana’s current position as a major energy supplier would require the country to forge strong and sustainable partnerships that would ensure it receives the greatest benefit.

“The UAE believes deeply in this country because we have lived it ourselves, we know that progress is not accidental, it is designed, it is governed and it is built with the right partners, that is why we stand ready to collaborate with Guyana as a true partner that you can count on, sharing our capability, experience and conviction to turn opportunity to real impact,” the UAE Minister noted.

The Minister said over the last few years Guyana has undergone “structural transformation” and the country’s developmental agenda can be used as an example on how a new oil producing nation can exploit their resources.

“Guyana’s emergence as a major energy producer is already delivering tangible results, jobs created, capital mobilized and national capability is built for the long term. Guyana is proof of what progress looks like when energy becomes a platform for development,” the Minister noted.

He said Guyana will remain a critical player in the oil and gas sector as energy demand continues to rise and reliable supply remains essential for economic growth, security and social stability throughout the world.

“Guyana’s story is not just about growth, it is about choice, the choice to turn natural resources into lasting national strength, not just for today but for generations. The choice to build partnerships to endure, based on trust, shared ambition and mutual benefit and the choice to shape development on your own terms with confidence, clarity and sovereignty,’ the Minister stated.

The UAE is also looking to work along with Guyana in several other critical development areas.
