Mocha Arcadia man brutally murdered; Two teenage Venezuelans are suspects

Police investigators are probing the robbery and murder of 33-year-old Mocha Arcadia resident, Ken Sukhdeo. The man died on Tuesday night after being brutally stabbed by two Venezuelan teens, who were known to him.

A Police report stated that from time to time, Sukhdeo would assist the two 19-year-old Venezuelan men in getting money sent to their families in Venezuela. The two suspects live in the Diamond community.

On Tuesday night, while Sukhdeo was in the company of his girlfriend, who is also from Venezuela, he was approached by the two youths in Diamond. The Police report said the two suspects entered the man’s car and as he drove them to a nearby village on the East Bank of Demerara, one of them reached over to him and started to stab him repeatedly.

The Police report said the man managed to stop the car while he was being attacked, and both teens started to stab him and also attacked his girlfriend who was sitting in the front seat. The woman managed to escape, and the suspects dumped the man’s body while making off with his car.

The injured man and his girlfriend were both rushed to the Diamond Hospital, where the injured man died from his stab wounds. The girlfriend was treated for the injuries she sustained.

The Police said suspects crashed the man’s car in the Great Diamond community and made off with a bag of his belongings.

One of the suspects was later found with a number of items belonging to the dead man. He has since been arrested, while the other 19-year-old man remains on the run.

The dead man, Ken Sukhdeo, sustained more than 19 stab wounds to his head, back and upper body. The investigations are ongoing.
