
A 33-year-old shopkeeper in Agricola was found shot to death on Monday morning, with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
A statement from the Guyana Police Force identified the dead man as 33-year-old Romel Bollers. His body was discovered around 8:30 on Monday morning at Titus Street in Agricola.
Bollers was last seen leaving his home fifteen minutes before his body was found. The Police report said he had left his home to tend to his pigs.
The man’s sister said shortly after he left the house, she overheard persons on the outside commenting that he had been shot. She told investigators that she rushed across to the lot where the pig pens are located and it was there that she found her brother lying motionless on his back, bleeding from injuries to his back and abdomen.
The Ambulance Service from the Eccles Fire Station was summoned, and the man was rushed to the Diamond Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigators said an examination of his body revealed gun shot wounds to his right shoulder, two on his abdomen, and one to his right elbow. One 9mm spent shell was recovered from the scene.
Investigations are in progress.
Two weeks ago, there was a similar shooting incident in the same community.
