A 49-year-old teacher from Bachelor’s Adventure on the East Coast of Demerara was charged on Monday with the possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

The woman, Sharon McCurdy, pleaded not guilty when she appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Vigilance Magistrates’ Court.

She is accused of having 31.4 pounds of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. The Magistrate refused to grant bail to the teacher. She will return to Court on the 3rd July for the continuation of the case.
