 The charge stated that on the 19th September on the Soesdyke Highway, he drove Mini-Bus BLL 3749 in a manner dangerous to the public causing the death of Basil Rambarran.

$500,000 bail for “drunk driver” accused of causing death by dangerous driving

44-year-old, Herstelling resident, Sewkumar Singh, was on Monday charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

The man pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of $500,000.

The charge stated that on the 19th September on the Soesdyke Highway, he drove Mini-Bus BLL 3749 in a manner dangerous to the public causing the death of Basil Rambarran.

The Court also heard that the accused was driving under the influence of alcohol, when the accident occurred.

The Police Prosecutor had no objections to bail, but requested that the defendant’s license be suspended.

That was request was granted and the accused was granted $500,000 bail and told to return to Court on the 13th October.
