A Bagotstown resident will spend the next three years behind bars, after admitting of being in possession of marijuana for the purpose of “hussling”.
25-Year-Old Carlsdale Arvon, today made his first appearance before Magistrate Faboyo Azore and entered a plea of guilty when the charge was read to him.
The charge stated that on the 26th June at John Street, he was found with 102 Grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. Reports indicated that on the day in question, the young man saw the police and ran from the area, while dropping the bag that he had in his possession.
The Police after observing the man, caught up with him and found the bag with the illegal substance.
In the Court, the man explained that it is very hard to get a job that would be able to feed his two kids and so he had to do something in order to earn money for them.
He said he started “to hussle” marijuana.
In addition to the three year jail sentence, the convicted man will also have to pay a fine of $150,000.
