Former Police Service Commission Chairman files criminal complaint against Attorney General

The former Chairman of the Police Service Commission Paul Slowe filed a criminal complaint against Attorney General Anil Nandlall today at the Brickdam Police station.

Mr. Slowe’s complaint is in relation to alleged statements made by the Attorney General about him on an NCN television programme that was streamed on social media.

Mr. Slowe believes the statements made and broadcast across social media amount to several violations of the cybercrime law and he wants the Attorney General to face the Court.

“I have filed a criminal complaint against the Attorney General with the Police and I have supplied them with a transcript of the programme “Issues in the News” broadcast on NCN and I have also issued them a copy of my statement…I would expect now that the Police will do what the Police is suppose to do which is to investigate my complaint and file the necessary criminal charges”, Mr. Slowe said.

Slowe’s Attorney, Selwyn Pieters said if the Police fails to act on the complaint, they will move to file the charge privately.

Mr. Slowe filed his complaint this midday just after he appeared in Court to answer charges of conspiracy to defraud and sexual misconduct. He was granted bail on the charges.
