Lowenfield, Myers and Mingo to face new election fraud charges

Less than a week after the Police and the DPP received copies of the Statements of Poll and the Statements of Recount from the 2020 elections, the Police has filed new charges against the Chief Election Officer Keith Lowenfield, the Deputy CEO Roxanne Myers and Returning Officer for Region 4, Clairmont Mingo.

The three are now being accused of conspiring with others including members of the APNU+AFC coalition and other GECOM employees to defraud the electors of Guyana contrary to the common law.

The three are accused of allegedly declaring a false account of the votes cast at the 2020 elections.

Already, Lowenfield is facing charges of misconduct in public office and forgery, while Myers is facing two charges of misconduct in public office while Mingo is facing four charges of misconduct in office.

Those cases are still ongoing and have been crawling along in the Court system.

Lowenfield and Myers were summoned to the CID Headquarters on Tuesday where the new allegations were put to them. They have denied the allegations.
