Two male sex workers who were pounced on by four armed men late last night, managed to relieve one of the bandits of his pistol and their stolen motorcycle has since been recovered.
According to a Police report, Police ranks on a mobile patrol in the vicinity of Bourda Market responded to a report of an armed robbery that was committed on two male sex workers of their motorcycle and a cellular phone.
The patrol responded promptly was was able to arrest one of the suspects with the stolen motorcycle.
The Police statement pointed out that during the commission of the crime, the victims engaged the armed suspects in a scuffle and were successful in disarming one of the bandits of his weapon .32 pistol with 5 matching live rounds.
They have since handed over the gun and ammunition to Police.
It was just after 9:00pm when the sex workers, who were seated on the motorcycle, were suddenly pounced on by four armed men who arrived in a motorcar.
The victims were relieved of their valuables, but fought back and were able to relieve one of the bandits of his weapon.
The swift response by the police resulted in a 24-year-old suspect of no fixed place of abode being pursued and arrested on Camp Street with the victims’ motorcycle.
He was positively identified by the victims and is cooperating with investigators.
