This morning, the bauxite company at Linden sounded its horn for several minutes in a mournful tone to alert the community on the passing of a former senior official. 

NICIL CEO and former Linmine CEO Horace James passes on

The Chief Executive Officer of the Government’s National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL), Horace James has died.

He passed away early this morning in his hometown of Linden where he had been battling cancer.

James is also a former CEO of Linmine who also served as the Head of the Linmine Secretariat.

He worked in the bauxite industry for decades in several managerial positions and is also well known in the mining engineering fraternity.

This morning, the bauxite company at Linden sounded its horn for several minutes in a mournful tone to alert the community on the passing of a former senior official.

Mr. James also once served as the Regional Chairman for Region Ten.

He was appointed the Chief Executive of NICIL in 2017 after acting in the position for a number of months.

Over his many years of work in the bauxite sector, he also served on several regional and national boards and was well respected for his knowledge of management of bauxite resources and engineering in the mining sector.
