PPP will know its not business as usual -Harmon

"I can assure you and all of Guyana that we will ensure, that every day, starting today, the fraudulent PPP government knows will learn that it is not will no longer be business as usual. We will give support only to those issues of which affect the sovereignty of our nation, public security [the welfare of our working people, the common good] and any other matter we determine to be in the national interest", he told reporters on Tuesday.

Opposition Leader Joe Harmon while announcing that the APNU+AFC in opposition will give support to issues of national security, national interest and territorial integrity, has also indicated that it will not be business as usual in the new Parliament.

“I can assure you and all of Guyana that we will ensure, that every day, starting today, the fraudulent PPP government knows will learn that it is not will no longer be business as usual. We will give support only to those issues of which affect the sovereignty of our nation, public security [the welfare of our working people, the common good] and any other matter we determine to be in the national interest”, he told reporters on Tuesday.

The APNU+AFC Coalition has 31 seats in the 65 member National Assembly. Although the coalition has a number of new faces, it intends to push a strong legislative agenda in the House.

“We are committed to a robust and aggressive legislative agenda to see the removal of the fraudulent PPP from government so that we can continue the work which we started in building Guyana and commence, in earnest the execution of the Decade of Development strategy for Guyana”.

Mr. Harmon said the coalition will be paying close attention to the upcoming budget presentation and will fully participate in the debate. He said already, the PPP Civic administration, which he maintains is fraudulent will have lots of questions to answer about recent appointments.
