Queen’s College continues to live up to its reputation as the top school in the country and has once again dominated in the top 26 at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examination (CSEC).
With a total of 24 Grade Ones and one Grade Two, Michael Bhopaul was named this year’s top student for Guyana.
The Ministry of Education requested a list of candidates who secured Grade Ones passes in eight or more subjects from the Caribbean Examinations Council and a list of 164 candidates was received.
Of that number, 26 students secured twelve Grades Ones or more and their names were released by Education Minister Nicolette Henry.
Bhopaul was followed by his colleagues Rawleeta Barrow who secured 19 Ones and Roshawn Cummings who secured 16 Ones.
Saraswati Vidya Nakitan’s Keshini Digamber copped 16 Ones and one three while her colleague Shontel Archer secured 15 Ones 3 twos and 1 three.
Queens College has a total of 13 students in the top 26. Other schools that made the list include: Anna Regina Secondary, Tagore High, ISA Islamic and Marian Academy.
