The engineer, 67-year-old, Amaninauth Chinkan, is nursing chop wounds to his left arm that were inflicted by the contractor as the two argued over non-payment of money for completed works.

Police investigators are searching for an Enterprise, East Coast Demerara who allegedly chopped a Regional Engineer over late payment for completed construction works.

The engineer, 67-year-old, Amaninauth Chinkan, is nursing chop wounds to his left arm that were inflicted by the contractor as the two argued over non-payment of money for completed works.

The incident reportedly took place on Friday night in the Enterprise community.

The contractor bolted from the scene after chopping the engineer and he has been in hiding since then.

The injured engineer had to undergo several surgery over the weekend at the Georgetown Hospital as doctors stabilized him.

Investigators have not released the name of the irate contractor.
