Security Officer remanded to prison over marijuana bust

A private security officer, who was busted on Friday with a large quantity of marijuana in his possession has been charged and remanded to jail.

The man, Olrick Fingal, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court this morning where he was slapped with the charge of trafficking more than six pounds of marijuana. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was immediately remanded to jail until the 16th June.

In a statement, CANU explained that the man was busted on Mandela Avenue in the vicinity of the Royal Hotel on Friday with eight parcels of marijuana leaves, seeds, and stems. He was also found with a pistol with 19 live rounds.

CANU said the bust was made as a result of information received.
