Justice Navendra Singh today sentenced a 33-year-old, Soesdyke man to 60 years in jail after a jury found him guilty of murder.
The convict, Steve Allicock, smiled his way in and out of the courtroom as the sentence was handed down.
The case dates back to 2009 when Allicock and his brother attacked another man, Wendell Tappin during an argument over a cellphone.
It was during that argument that Allicock repeatedly stabbed Tappin to the chest. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
It took investigators five years to find the accomplice. When he was nabbed after being on the run, he was immediately charged.
The verdict was a unanimous one by the jury and the convict showed no signs of emotions after the sentence was handed down.
