The 30-year-old man accused of the murder of his 19-year-old stepson has been arrested by the Police.
According to a Police statement, the murder suspect, Shawn Bobb, was nabbed by Police investigators at Helena #1, Mahaica fully dressed as a woman with a wig and make-up included.
The arrest came three days after the murder of Isaiah Edwards and the attempted murder of his mother by the same man.
On Thursday, the Police issued a wanted bulletin for the murder suspect. By Saturday, investigators received information that he was hiding out in the Mahaica community.
The Police arrived at the man’s hideout location at around 7:20 on Saturday night and he reportedly attempted to escape from the officers by jumping through a glass window. He was cornered and taken to the Georgetown hospital for medical attention for the injuries he sustained by jumping through the window.
He remains in Police custody and is likely to face the Court this week.
The suspect lived in the East LaPenitence community with his common-law wife and the woman’s 19-year-old son.
Last Wednesday, the suspect got into an argument with his wife over her late cooking. He reportedly started to physically assault the woman. When the woman’s teenage son rushed to her defence, the man armed himself with a knife and stabbed the youth to his abdomen and the woman to her body, before fleeing the scene.
Both mother and son were rushed to the Georgetown Hospital. The son was later transferred to the Ocean View COVID-19 hospital after his COVID test on admission returned a positive result.
The young man passed away at the same hospital.
