Suspects in 10lb Cocaine bust remanded to jail

The three men, who were nabbed last Thursday in a car with 10 pounds of cocaine, have been charged and remanded to jail.

The three drug trafficking suspects, Chef and businessman, Rawle Hoyte, Security guard Joel Hodge and Veterinary Doctor, Quacy Joseph, all appeared in Court this morning and pleaded not guilty to the drug trafficking charge when it was read to them.

The Court was told that last Thursday, CANU officers were conducting a drug enforcement operation on Vlissengen road, when they intercepted the car with the three men and found five large packets of cocaine stashed int he car. The cocaine carried a weight of just over 10 pounds.

The three were immediately arrested and taken to CANU headquarters, where they were told of the drug trafficking offenses.

The three will make their next Court appearance later this month.
