The Government of Guyana along with private sector agencies will be heading to New York on the 27th July to host a job fair, to highlight various employment opportunities in Guyana, with a focus on the oil and gas sector.

The event will be targeting skilled Guyanese who are living in the New York area and may be considering a return home to work in oil and gas or one of the related sectors.

In a statement today, the Government said the “Diaspora Job Fair” will feature participation from key private sector leaders and stakeholders. Attendees, the statement said, will be offered insight into the diverse opportunities available across various sectors in Guyana.

Additionally, information on the remigration process will be made available.

The Government says it sees the job fair as a way to harness the talents and expertise of Guyanese living in the diaspora, encouraging them use their skills and expertise in Guyana to assist in the development of the country and its economy.
