Three men charged over armed robbery at Chinese Supermarket in Linden granted bail

Three men from Amelia’s Ward in Linden were charged on Wednesday over the armed robbery of a Chinese Supermarket in the same Amelia’s Ward area.

The three accused, 19-year-old Muhamad Bakker, 28-year-old Javon LaFluer and 19-year-old Elijah Gilkes appeared at the Linden Magistrates’ Court where the charge of robbery under arms was read to them. The three were not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.

However, they were granted bail in the sum of $350,000 each and also ordered to be in their homes between 5:30pm and 6:30am for the duration of the trial. They also have to report to the Police Station in the area twice per month.

The robbery took place at the Gang Xiang Supermarket in Central Amelia’s Ward. The three suspects were arrested on the 17th May, 2025.

They will make their next Court appearance on the 27th June.
