Two US Navy Super Hornets fighter jets will conduct a flyover of Georgetown and its surroundings today in collaboration with the Guyana Defence Force.

In a statement, the US Embassy said the flyover will take place at around 2pm, and the two jets are based on the USS George Washington.

The Embassy said members of the public are advised that this exercise builds upon the US Government’s routine security cooperation and bilateral defense partnership with Guyana.  

As part of its worldwide defense mission, U.S. Navy vessels routinely transit international waters all over the world conducting similar exercises and exchanges with partners and allies, the Embassy noted.
