Four persons including a 36-year-old woman, have been taken into custody and are being questioned about the murder of Hemraj Pardessi.

A 60-year-old overseas-based Guyanese man who returned to Guyana in early July to begin the reconstruction of his home in Canje, Berbice was found murdered in his backyard late last evening.

Four persons including a 36-year-old woman, have been taken into custody and are being questioned about the murder of Hemraj Pardessi.

A Police report of the incident stated that Pardessi was last seen alive by one of his nephews yesterday in the company of a young man.

The Police said the man’s body was found lying face down with blood running out of his nose. Duck tape was found around his neck.

The upper flat of the man’s house was found ransacked and there were traces of blood on the stairs leading to the upper flat.

According to the Police, investigations by its ranks in the area led to the arrest of the four suspects. News Source understands that some of the suspects are believed to have been known to the man.

A post-mortem examination is to be carried out on his remains. 1
