Mahaicony farmer arrested after offering bribe to police for his brother’s release

The 36-year-old farmer was arrested on Monday afternoon after he offered two ranks based at the Mahaicony Police station, a $150,000 bribe for the release of his brother, Bishomit Rajkumar.

A Mahaicony farmer is facing possible jail time and might be able to keep his brother’s company behind bars.
The 36-year-old farmer was arrested on Monday afternoon after he offered two ranks based at the Mahaicony Police station, a $150,000 bribe for the release of his brother, Bishomit Rajkumar.
The brother was recently slapped with a two year prison sentence of unlawful wounding.  At the time of the bribery offer, the brother had just been arrested to be transferred to prison to begin his jail sentence.
Upon learning of his brother’s arrest and jail time, the farmer showed up with the money at the Police station and offered it to the two ranks. He was immediately arrested and his bribe money seized.
He is expected in court soon to face bribery charges.
