Guyanese and other Caribbean Nationals are among a group of “alien criminals” arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers.
According to a press release from US Immigration, the officers arrested 25 criminal aliens from Feb. 29 to March 4 during a targeted enforcement action targeting criminal aliens who pose a threat to public safety. The arrests were made across central Florida.
“All of those arrested by ICE during last week’s enforcement action met one of the agency’s top two enforcement priorities. All encountered had criminal records, some were felony convictions for serious or violent offenses, such as manslaughter, child abuse, robbery, false imprisonment, felony DUI, hit and run, armed burglary, racketeering, as well as weapons and drug violations”, the statement said.
The release stated that all of the targets in the operation met the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) two top immigration enforcement priorities.
