Principal Political Secretary of the People’s National Congress, Sandra Adams, died this morning after reportedly suffering a massive heart attack.
Ms. Adams, who also served as Assistant National Director for Community Development in the Government, was only recently discharged from the hospital after spending several days for a heart related ailment.
She was the sister of Minister within the Ministry of Communities, Valerie Adams-Yearwood. The Minister was not at work this morning and was also away from the Cabinet meeting.
Sandra Adams was also the Region 10 Campaign Manager for the APNU+AFC coalition at the last elections and previously served as a Member of Parliament for the People’s National Congress.
Her sudden death has come as a shock to many in the political circle, especially in the town of Linden, where she lived.
Just a few days ago, she attended the turning of the sod ceremony for the new Immigration and Passport Office in Linden.
Early this morning on her Facebook page, she shared a post titled “I need a word”.
It was her last social media posting.
