
Post mortem examinations were conducted today on the bodies of the Linden nurse and her two nieces who died tragically in a Christmas morning fire in Amelia’s Ward in Linden.
The pathologist listed the cause of death for all three persons as smoke inhalation.
30-year-old Kezia Lawrence-Bailey was at home with her two nieces, 16-year-old Angelique Lawrence and 8-year-old Ronika Lawrence, when tragedy struck.
The bodies of the three were discovered close to the backdoor of the house, indicating that they were trying to get out of the burning building when they collapsed and died.
The Guyana Fire Service reported today that investigations into the fire are still ongoing. A cause of the fire is still to be determined.
