
Regional carrier, Caribbean Airlines has announced that it is increasing the number of flights between New York and Guyana during the upcoming Caribbean Premiere League Cricket competition in Guyana.
According to a statement from the airline, additional flights on the New York-Georgetown route are now open for bookings for the final week in September and the first week in October, when Guyana will host playoff matches and then the finals of the tournament.
Caribbean Airlines is one of the big sponsors of the CPL tournament and is expected to promote the games across its network of destinations.
Already, the Tourism Ministry and other Government agencies in Guyana are gearing up for this year’s tournament. Many hotels have reported an increase in bookings as the Government has started to roll out promotional material for the tournament. This will be the third year that Guyana is hosting the playoff matches and finals.
