Linden hairdresser shot during robbery at salon

Well known Linden hairdresser, Mockesha Standford, is nursing gunshot wounds to her right leg after coming under attack during a robbery at her Wismar salon.

According to a Police report, the 27-year-old hairdresser was at her salon at around 9:20 on Saturday night in the company of two customers and one of her workers, when a partially masked, gun carrying man entered the salon and demanded their belongings.

The bandit, who was described as being dark in complexion with short dreadlocks and just 5ft 4inches in height relieved the hairdresser of $130,000 in cash, and robbed one of her customers of a gold ring.

The robbery victims told the Police that after relieving them of their belongings, the suspect turned around as he was heading out of the business place, and fired a shot at the salon owner.

The bullet hit the woman to her right leg and the suspect managed to escape.

The injured woman was later taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where she was treated for her injury. Her condition is stable.

The Police said they visited and processed the scene, and recovered a 9MM spent shell. A number of persons are being questioned about the incident.

Just over a month ago, the same salon owner was involved in a bottle pelting altercation with another person at a stage show. There was no police action in that case.
