A 54-year-old Alberttown man collapsed and died this afternoon just outside his home after coughing up blood moments after he started to consume a meal.
The dead man, Kenny Reece, lived alone at the Fifth Street, Alberttown home. Family members and the Police rushed across to the house after receiving reports that Reece had collapsed outside the house and was in a motionless state. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members said in the house, investigators saw blood in the bathroom of the house, and it appeared as though the man had threw up and coughed up the blood before running out of the house where he collapsed. A plate of food was also found on a table in the house, leading investigators to believe that the man was eating just before he collapsed and died.
The Police took away the food from the scene for it to be tested. The dead man’s niece, Makeda Oudkirk said she was at her home when a relative contacted her about the man lying in front of the house.
“Everybody in the area is saying like he apparently get poison, but when you go upstairs and look, there is a lot of blood in the washroom area, and so. It is a very sad situation, very very sad. He has two daughters overseas”, the grieving niece said.
She explained that her uncle was a very loving and caring man. A post mortem examination is to be conducted on the body, to ascertain a cause of death.
