The Ministry of Education has been forced to suspend classes for the remainder of the week at the Charlestown Secondary school after scores of pigeons have taken up residence in the classrooms.
In a statement, the Education Ministry described the situation as an infestation and said it remains committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for all teachers and students. It said it is making moves to address the situation.
Scores of pigeons have flocked the school in recent days, attacking students and teachers while messing up the classrooms with their waste.

A cleaner attached to the school was badly injured when she was attacked by a swarm of the pigeons. Teachers stayed out of the classrooms today as many students stayed away completely. Chief Education Officer, Saddam Hussein visited the school today for a first hand look of the situation, and he found that the birds of a feather were flocking together in the school compound.
