Two Police ranks busted with parcels of “foreign weed” in car

Two Police ranks, including one who is serving on the SWAT unit of the Force, were busted on Tuesday with more than three pounds of imported marijuana in a car.

According to reports, the car was intercepted in Georgetown at the corners of Camp and New Market Streets and was being driven by 39-year-old Police Lance Corporal, Kevin Thompson of the SWAT Unit. The other passenger in the car was 29-year-old Police Lance Corporal Dwayne Perry.

During a search of the car, the Police reportedly found the bulky parcels of the marijuana and immediately arrested the two ranks.

They were taken to the Alberttown Police Station, where they were told of the offence of drug trafficking and likely charges. The matter remains under investigation.
