Former APNU+AFC Member of Parliament, Tabitha Sarabo-Halley, who also once served as an Executive of the Working People’s Alliance, has now joined the We Invest in Nationhood party, and is listed as a Candidate for the party at the upcoming elections.
Speaking with News Source on Monday after the party handed in its candidates’ list, Ms. Sarabo-Halley said she believes her move to join the newly formed WIN party is the best political choice at this time.
The W.I.N party is led by businessman Azruddin Mohamed.
“People have made a choice, people recognized what would have been happening over the last fifty years cannot continue, because according to the people, they don’t think they are getting what they deserve out of country they live in, grow up in, they want, desire and are yearning for something different, and it is because of that, that I have chosen to come over this side” Sarabo Halley said.
Questioned on whether she is concerned about the existing US sanctions against the WIN party leader, Azruddin Mohamed, Sarabo-Halley said she believes every person has a right to determine their political journey.
“I am not concerned about the sanctions because I believe that Guyana is a sovereign country and as a sovereign country, the people have a right to determine who should lead them and once that happen, we will deal with what comes next,” She noted.

She also stated that her decision at this time to leave the APNU was based on a personal decision and a conviction that the people of Guyana need a change.
“I think that everybody has their own journey and has to make decision as to what is in their best interest and also the best interest of the people that they serve and at this particular point in my life, I recognized that what the people need is something a bit different than what has been in existence for a very long time,” she noted.
The WIN party is confident of making a difference at the upcoming elections. The party is the only new party that will be fielding candidates in all ten regions.
