City businessman, Marlon Dasilva, has been committed to stand a High Court trial over the murder of his reputed wife, 27-year-old Kenesha Vaughn.
The murder took place at the couple’s Diamond, East Bank Demerara home in February.
The Court had earlier rejected his Attorneys’ no-case submission, and now following the arguments put forward by his Attorneys, the Magistrate has decided that sufficient evidence exists for the matter to be moved over to the High Court for a jury trial.
DaSilva was represented by a battery of Attorneys including Sanjeev Datadin and Everton Lammy.
Attorneys Nigel Hughes and Kishawna Jefford served as Special Prosecutors in the case.
27-year-old Kenesha Vaughn was found shot to death in the couple’s home and the entire incident was captured on the family’s security camera system. She was gunned down with the couple’s young child nearby. The video recording had made its way to social media, leaving many in complete shock over the gruesome murder.
Family members and supporters of the dead woman have been waging a relentless campaign for justice in the matter as there were attempts by the Attorneys of the accused for the matter to dismissed entirely.
The murder accused remains remanded.
