Minister of Housing, Collin Croal, has announced that the Central Housing and Planning Authority will facilitate the signing of over 3,000 Agreements of Sale over the next two months for persons who were allocated lands in certain housing areas in Regions, 3, 4 and 6.
In a video recording published by the Ministry of Housing, Mr. Croal said the move is to ensure that Certificate of Titles could be processed faster and for persons to have access to their lands.
So far, he said, more almost 1,000 persons have been called in to sign their Agreements of Sale.
“So, within two or two and a half month we will be having more than 3,000 persons signing for seven new areas, the investments in these seven new areas alone that I have identified, we have investments in those areas of over $38.5B to make it accessible for the persons to be able to access their lands,” Mr. Croal said
Already, the Minister said persons in No. 70 and No. 71 villages in Berbice, as well as Lusignan Phase 1, have already been called in to sign their agreements.

“In order to fast track and bring quicker service to allottees who are waiting for their agreement of sale to be able to process their titles we have added some additional days to focus on these areas, as I said there are several new areas that are coming on stream that we are able to process for their ownership and that is in regions 6, 4 and 3,” the Minister said.
Mr. Croal also implored on other allottees to be patient, as the Ministry tries to work to streamline the issuance of the Agreements of Sale.
“Over the next few weeks, we have a number of singing that will be taking place, for example for Lusignan phase 2 we have initiated for 500 persons who will be coming in to sign their agreement of sale as well as for the commencement to process their certificate of titles. Similarly, we have the Good Hope phase 2, the Eastern portion we have about 300 persons who will be called in,” Mr. Croal noted.
The Housing Minister also said infrastructure work will also commence in those identified areas shortly.
