A massive two-storey building that was under construction in Atlantic Gardens, East Coast Demerara, collapsed Wednesday night, killing a 46-year-old construction worker, and injuring seven other workers in the process. The building collapse was caught on camera.
The incident is being investigated by the Police and the Labour Department.
The dead man has been identified as Radish Domingo, who was a resident of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.
Domingo was killed at around 7:10pm on Wednesday when the structure collapsed.
When News Source arrived at the scene, Domingo’s lifeless body laid on the ground, covered with a white cloth, as investigators cordoned off the area.
At the scene of the tragedy, the man’s family arrived, and wept bitterly at the sight of his body.

In a statement, the Guyana Police Force said seven other men were injured in the incident.
It said preliminary investigations have so far revealed that Domingo and the other construction workers were in the process of completing sections of the roof when the structure suddenly collapsed, resulting in them receiving multiple injuries.
Domingo was reportedly trapped in the rubble.
Both the Police and Guyana Fire Service were summoned to the scene, and emergency response personnel assisted in rushing the injured men to the hospital.
Security camera footage is being reviewed as part of the investigations.
