Police on the East Coast of Demerara are investigating a double execution killing that took place last evening at Vigilance South and claimed the lives of 22-year-old Cordel August and 35-year-old Keon Headley.
The incident took place just after 10pm.
According to a Police report, initial investigations have revealed that the victims were among a gathering of persons at a shop in the area when two males, dressed in black and riding a motorcycle, approached them and opened fire, discharging several gunshots in their direction.
Both men sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies, and were escorted to the Enmore Regional Hospital by public-spirited citizens, where they were pronounced dead on arrival by doctors on duty.
Police investigators have since examined the bodies, and have confirmed multiple gunshot wounds.
A post-mortem examination is to be carried out on the bodies. A motive being the attack and execution is unknown. There have been no arrests in the case.
