13 years in jail for drug addict who stabbed man for refusing to give him money

Drug addict Quincy Henry also known as ‘Fix it’ was yesterday slapped with a 13-year jail sentence after pleading guilty to stabbing a man to his neck for refusing to give him $100 three years ago.

Henry, who is now 33 years-old, stood before Justice Brassington Reynolds pleaded guilty to the attempted murder charge.

According to the facts of the case, on September 20, 2015, Henry unlawfully wounded Troy Bacchus with the intent to commit murder.

Reports indicated that Bacchus was asked by another man for a $100, and upon seeing this, Henry also made a request for the same amount.

However, Bacchus refused and a scuffle ensued between the two. It was during that scuffle, that the Henry pulled out a knife and stabbed Bacchus to the neck.

The accused told the court, however, that Bacchus attacked him first with several weapons and he (Henry) was only acting in self-defense at the time.

A medical report obtained by the court revealed that Bacchus’ injuries to his neck could have been fatal.

Before handing down the sentence, Justice Reynolds said the accused is a victim of his own circumstance, and that he should seek counseling for his drug addiction.
