A Bus Driver, who was recently nabbed with over 54 Pounds of marijuana and 200 grams of cocaine was remanded to prison today.
55-year-old, Garfield Parker, made his first court appearance today at the Georgetown Magistrates Court.
The charge stated that on the 1st October, at Maruba, he had in his possession 24.900 kilograms of Marijuana and 200 grams of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
He was heading to Lethem, when police received information about the presence of the illegal items in the bus and stopped the vehicle to execute a search at Mabura. It was during that search that the illegal items were found.
Parker was remanded to prison and will make his next appearance later this month.
