52-year-old US-based Guyanese, Ganesh Rampersaud, is having his visit to Guyana extended, but he is spending the extra time behind bars.
Rampersaud, who was holidaying in Guyana, was arrested by the Police on the 2nd August in the Corentyne area, after lawmen found him with an unlicensed weapon along with unlicensed ammunition.
The man reportedly told the investigators that he got himself the gun and ammunition to protect himself while here in Guyana. He appeared in Court on the 5th August and was remanded to jail after entering a not guilty plea.
