Four East Coast Demerara residents are in custody as Police investigators continue to probe the beating and chopping death of a 13-year-old boy.
The teen, Daveand Sanchar, of Triumph, East Coast Demerara was chopped and then beaten to death after he got involved in a heated argument on Sunday night with a group of men.
The Police report said investigations have revealed that Daveand Sanchar who was at a function in the village, had an altercation with some men over a female.
“He (deceased) subsequently left, and returned with a cutlass. A further argument ensued and it was alleged that one of the men took away the cutlass and dealt him a chop to his head. Whilst on the ground, he was given a severe beating with a stick.”
The teen was rushed the GPHC where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspects are all in custody assisting the police with the investigation.
