The death toll from coronavirus in Guyana continues to spike with the Health Ministry giving no indication of what may be behind the increase in COVID-19 related deaths.
Late on Tuesday night, the Health Ministry announced the death of a 25-year-old young man from Region Four.
No other information was provided on the death, but the 25-year-old was the second death recorded yesterday, taking the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Guyana to 69.
Two deaths were also recorded on Monday.
September has now emerged as the deadliest month for the pandemic in Guyana.
Between the months of March to July, Guyana recorded 20 COVID-19 related deaths. From the 1st August to September 22, that number increased by 49.
A total of 19 additional deaths were recorded in the month of August and so far September has seen 30 deaths.
